Introduction
The Indian National Trust For Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) accorded recognition as an Institute of Excellence by the Government of India, is a non-profit organization founded in 1984 to involve its members in protecting and conserving India’s vast natural, built and cultural heritage. It has over 200 Chapters spread across all states and Union Territories, and works with Local, State and Central governments, besides numerous other institutions.
INTACH undertakes a wide range of initiatives including the conservation and restoration of Natural, Cultural, and Built Heritage, Heritage Management, awareness programmes, heritage walks, and educational outreach in schools and colleges. These activities aim to foster public appreciation and engagement with India’s rich historical legacy.
